Arrival Vancouver - rental car pickup

At arrival, pick up the rental car at the airport and drive to the hotel to check in.

Vancouver - Salmon Arm

Via the fruitful valley of the Fraser River, you drive to the Fraser Canyon to visit Hells Gate. Follow the Highway Nr. 1 (La Transcanadienne), parrallel with the Thompson River. It brings you via Cache-Creek and Kamloops to Salmon Arms where you will stay for the night. Salmon Arm is a town on one of the four arms of Shuswap Lake. The lake is a popular vacation destination. With four hundred kilometers of shoreline, 22 provincial parks and surrounding mountains, there are many outdoor activities available. The town got its name from the presence of large salmon schools in the southwest arm of the lake.

Salmon Arm - Banff

Wake up early for a trip through the Selkirk Mountains and Glacier National Park. Impressive panoramas on countless glaciers and steep mountains. Via the Columbia River Valley, you travel to the Yoho National Park, with the Kicking Horse Pass. Eventually, you can see the beautiful Rockies arise near Banff.

Enjoy nature, make a excursion with the elevator to Sulphur Mountain, visit Lake Minnewanka and the Bow Falls or discover the historic Banff Springs Hotel. Shopping, walking and great food, it is all part of the Banff experience.

Banff - Jasper

Today will be unforgetable! Follow the Icefield Parkway. First stop: The wonderful Lake Louse, overshadowd by Mt. Victoria. Afterwards to the Athabasco Glacier and a ride on the glacier with a 'Snocoach' (not included). Passing wonderful lakes, impressive waterfalls and eternal glaciers you will reach Jasper.

Jasper - Prince George

The day starts with an unforgatable boat trip on the Maligne Lake (included). You leave Jasper via the Yellowhead Pass with a view on Mount Robson, the highest mountain of the Rockies. Follow the Fraser River to Prince George, at the foothill of the Cariboo Mountains.

Prince George - Smithers

From Prince Georgge the trip continues via the Yellowhead Highway, along big coniferous forests and the old route of the fur traders. Possible to visit the Historic Park of Fort St. James and the Hudson Bay Trading Post. End of the afternoon, arrival in Smithers, a little city once known for its fur trading.

Smithers - Prince Rupert

The last etappe to the coast! You follow the wonderful Skeena River Valley and you can visit the interesting 'Ksan Indian Village', where you will encounter the fascinating Indian culture. Travel via Terrace to Prince Rupert.

Prince Rupert - Port Hardy

The ferry (ticket for persons and car included) brings you to Vancouver Island. In this exceptional nature area you will discover whales, porpoise and sea lions. In the evening, the ferry reaches Port Hardy and check in at the hotel.

Port Hardy - Campbell River

No long distances today .... You can go to Telegraph Cove and make a trip at sea, looking for whales (see page 9 for excursions). Then on to Campbell River, famous as "salmon capital" of the world.

On your trip south, to Victoria, a first stop can be held at Courtenay and Comox. Then futher to Nanaimo and visit the historic 'Bastion' and the Centennial Museum. Before reaching Victoria, you can plan an extra visit to the Native Heritage Center in Duncan.

Visit Parliament Buildings, Beacon Hill Park, stroll along the Inner and Outer Harbor, take time for the wonderful collection of the B.C. Provincial Museum, enjoy a cup of tea "the English way" in the historic Empress Hotel and don't forget to stop by some of the shops in the elegant shopping streets. In this almost 'British' city, flowers, parks and gardens are extremely well cared for and make for a wonderful photo and film setting.

On the way to the ferry, start the day with a visit at the colourful Butchart Gardens. In the afternoonn the ferry (to be paid locally) brings you from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen. At arrival, a short drive to Vancouver and check in at the hotel.
