Anchorage - Talkeetna

You leave Anchorage and follow the Parks Highway to Talkeetna. There you enjoy an optional boat tour on the Susitna & Talkeetna River. This cozy pioneers village is also the start for all hikings on Mount Denali. Free time for a visit or participate in an optional excursion. Lodgings.

Today you travel north to Denali National Park, one of the most beautiful nature parks of America. Along the way, you get to peak a glympse on the spectacular Mount Denali. Lodgings in one of the lodges near the entrance of the park.

Denali National Park

The unforgetable Wildlife Tour starts early in the morning but it is definitely worth getting out of bed. In company of a park ranger, you will encounter the wonderful fauna and flora of this immense natural park. Back to the lodge for lodging.

Denali N.P. - Fairbanks

Leave Denali for a relaxing drive, via the historic town of Nenana to Fairbanks. This is the famous centre of the Gold Rush and also the gate to the 'Last Frontier' of the north. Optional: In the evening, you can enjoy a Salmon Bake Dinner in Pioneer Park. Lodgings.

Fairbanks visit

Day off. Possible visit to the 'Alaskaland' theme park with a slide show of 'Northern Lights', the Museum of the University, the 'Alaska Public Lands Information Center' and much more. Also enjoy a paddle boat ride on the Chena and Tenana Rivers.

Fairbanks - Paxson

Get up early because you have a beautiful ride ahead of you. This ride opens up spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, forests and lakes. You will cross the massif of the Alaska Range and the region of the legendary "Alaska Pipeline" that accompanies you along the way. Today you will stay in the midst of this impressive nature in a unique lodge.

Paxson - Valdez

You will depart today for Valdez, visiting the George Ashby Museum at Copper Center along the way. You will then follow the famous Richardson Highway and stop at the beautiful Worthington Glacier. Beyond Thompson Pass, in Keystone Canyon you will find two famous waterfalls, Bridal Veil and Horseshoe Fall. Lodging in Valdez.

Valdez visit

At Valdez, the terminus of the impressive Alaska Pipeline, you can visit (appointment to make) the pipeline terminal. There are many salmon farms around the city and in the interesting Valdez Museum you can learn more about the Exxon Valdez disaster and the 1964 earthquake. For the sporty types: kayaking and canoeing trips allow you to discover marine life up close.

Valdez - Glennallen - Sheep Mountain

Depart back via the Richardson Highway to the north. Visits to Keystone Canyon with its famous Bridal Veil and Horsetail waterfalls can also be anticipated today. Once you arrive at Glennallen, you now follow the Glenn Highway through the beautiful Matanuska Valley. Lodging is provided in one of the cozy "cabins" of the Sheep Mountain Lodge (or equivalent).

Sheep Mountain - Wasilla

On the way to Wasilla, enjoy an impressive landscape of high mountains, beautiful glaciers, vast meadows full of flowers. This is the richest agricultural area in Alaska where every year, during the Alaska State Fair, the largest coal and other vegetables are exhibited. In Wasilla, a visit to the Iditarod Visitor Center is not to be missed. Lodging.

Wasilla - Palmer - Anchorage

Start with a visit at the Musk-Ox Farm in Palmer, near the beginning of the pictureque Matsu Valley. Afterwards, on the route to Anchorage, make a stop at Eklutna to visit the Eklutna Village Historical Park with several colourful graves and a Russian Orthodox church. Back to Anchorage for lodgings.
