While passing through the park, you will notice a rough scenery and red cedars along a twisting road. The highlight is the Milner Pass, driving down via Winterpark to the highway. Continue east and the day ends in Glenwood Spinge. The village got his name thanks to the hot water springs and you will find one of the biggest mineral water pools in the world here. Other attractions are: the attracion park Glenwood Caverns, the steam baths of Yampah Spa and the Whitewater Park, an absolute must do for a kayak tour.

This dynamic city is the heart of the wine region in Colorado and has several wineries. Grand Junction - Gunnison - Ouray

Start driving to the south to Montose and follow the secondary route to Gunnison. You can visit the Pionner Museum and it is also the entrance to het National Park Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Isolated on a plateau, this canyon is, without a doubt, one of the most rudimental of the United States. Continue driving to the south to Telluride, one of the most beautiful victorian miners towns of the state. Lodgings in Ouray.

Continue driving south, to Durango, a little historic town, founded in 1880 to serve the miners village Silverton. Today, it is a nice place to stay with bars, restaurants, art galleries, and much more. Coninue the drive to Mesa Verde National Park or visit the Native American village of the Anasazi to see the Cliff Palace, Sunset House, Balcony House, Spruce Tree House,.. Durango - Chaco Canyon - Albuquerque

Leave Durango in the direction of Aztec and Farmington, where the Navajo and Apaches live and along the road, you will pass important ruins. Afterwards, more to the south, you will arrive in Chaco Canyon. It is one af the biggest archeological sites of the Pueblo population. You will find the typical black and whîte pottery. Drive further to Albuquerque, a city that attract lots of artists.

Albuquerque is one of the biggest cities in the state and situated along the Rio Grande River. Visit the Old Town Plaza, the Indian Puebla Cultural Center, the Sandia Peak Tramway,... Continue driving to Santa Fe, passing several famous "Pueblos". The city offers and interessing mix between Indian Culture, Hispanics and Americans. Visit the Palace of the Governors, the Institute of American Indian Arts, the little art galleries and the Pecos National Historical Park.

Santa Fe - Bandalier National Monument - Toas

One of the first stops of the day will be the Bandalier National Monument to admire the Pueblo houses in typical claystones. In the Second World War, it was in this place where the first nuclear bomb was developed, in secret of course. Continue to Taos. This town is one of the favorite places of todays artists.

Toas is known for its typical architecture, build by the Pueblo. They are very well kept and follow the ancient traditions. If you are lucky, you might dance along in one of the traditional dances. Continue to the border with Colorado and travel to Alamosa. Alamosa - Canon City - Colorado Springs

Het first visit of the day will be the Great Sand Dunes National Park, to check out the immense sand dunes. Hike to the top and slide down on a surf board. Continue to Salida and Canon City. The biggest highlight here is the bridge over the Arkansas River and the diniosaurs fossils they found in Garden Park, just north of town. Travel to Colorado Springs for lodgings.
