Today, you drive to the wonderful park of Mount Rainier. Cross the park from the north to the south and make a hike from the Sunrise Visitor Center. Along the way, you can enjoy the most wonderful panoramic views of the mountain. Lodgings in Ashford, just outside the park.
Ashford - Olympia

The trip continues to the abandonned, grey lanscape around Mt. Helens. Watch the destruction from the last eruption in 1980 and pass at the info center near Silver Lake. The day ends in Olympia, the capital of Washington.
Olympia - Forks

Drive by the Capitol Way en the Legislative Buildings, which offers a beautiful view on Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens. Further to Aberdeen and north up to Lake Quinault, one of the most beautiful places in the south of the immens Olympic National Park. Take a walk in the subtropic rainforest or enjoy a relaxing canoe trip on the lake. Afterwards, you follow the road tho the west of the park, first along the ocean and then back to the innerland to Forks.
Forks - Sequim

From Forks, you continue to Lake Crescent to make a hike to the Marymere Falls and to make a side trip to Hurricane Ridge. With a clear sky, you can enjoy the unforgetable panoramic view on the snow covered mountain tops. Back to the main road and further to Port Angeles. Sequim - Seattle

On the way back to Seattle, you cannot miss the Old Fort Townsend and Fort Warden. Some of the beautiful Victorian houses are still preserved. Passing little fishersmans villagers at the Puget Sound, you drive to Tacoma en further to midtown Seattle. Lodgings: Day 1 of the basic route.
