On the road to Durango, Taos and Toas Pueblo are absolutly a must. This is probably one of the most famous Indian pueblos. Through the San Juan Mountains to Aztec and a visit to the old ruins of the erstwhile pueblos can be done. Just half an hour drive to Durango.

The atmosphere of a cozy western town can be discovered. A visit with time to stroll around or a visit to the little mining town of Silverton, with the Narrow Gauge Train!

Durango - Bluff/Mexican Hat

Mesa Verde National Park is only a 60 km west of Durango. Here you will find the famous and best preserved "Cliff Dwellings" of the erstwhile Indian culture. Afterwards via Cortez to Bluff and Mexican Hat, the entrance gate to Monument Valley.

Monument Valley wil definitely recall memories of the famous Western movies. It is possible to participate in a jeepsafari (optional). Afterwards, you travel through a gaunt region, where only live some Navajo - Indians, until you reach Page at the wonderful Lake Powell.

This morning, you can enjoy a relaxing boat trip along the canyons to Rainbow Bridge (optional). In the afternoon, you continue via Kanab to Bryce Canyon, one of the most beautiful and finest sculptured canyons of America.

Rise up early and start with a visit to the world famous Hoover Dam. Further via Lake Mead to the impressive Grand Canyon. You might even be on time to see the breathtaking sunset. Lodgings in one of the hotels near the park.

Grand Canyon - Chinle

Take all the time you need to visit the most beautiful panoramas of the South Rim. An optional helicopter flight can be made. You leave the park through the east exit, via Desert View and the Watchtower. From Cameron, you drive to Tuba City, where the road crosses the Hopi Indians area. The Mesas are abandoned, but near the Second Mesa, a visit to het cultural center cannot be missed. Travel to Chinle.

This morning, you can discover the Canyon de Chelly, an impressive nature park with deep, enormous canyons and giant caves in the rocks. After visiting "The White House", "The Mummy Cave Ruin" and "The Antelope House" are no longer strangers. Afterwards further to Holbrook with a stop at the Hubbell Trading Post.

Holbrook - Window Rock - Gallup

Near Holbrook, you can visit the mysterious Petrified Forest, with the worlds biggest collection of petrified trees. Afterwards to Gallup with the possiblity to visit the Window Rock in the north or the Zuni Pueblo, one of the biggest in New Mexico, in the south.

Gallup - Albuquerque

An interesting drive and several stops along the way: El Morro National Monument, the Ice-caves, the famous ACOMA pueblo, and back to Albuquerque for the last night. Treat yourself to a delicious goodbye dinner in one of the many restaurants.
