San Francisco - Yosemite Park

After a last walk through the city, leave San Francisco and travel on to the beautiful Yosemite National Park. Yosemite is one of the largest nature reserves in the Sierra Nevada and has a great diversity of fauna and flora. Within the park, Yosemite Valley is the most visited area and you will also find the information center with rangers that can give you all the tips for beautiful walks and activities at all levels.  Wherever you drive through the park you will enjoy beautiful views and a few highlights in the park are definitely Glacier Point, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Mirror Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, Wawona and Mariposa Grove and certainly not to forget: Tioga Road which leads to the Tioga Pass and is only open from the beginning of June to the beginning of November.

Yosemite np - Tioga road - Lake Tahoe

From the village, follow the panoramic "Tioga Road" (alternative route provided if the pass were closed) and immediately you will find yourself in a totally different landscape. Stop at the mysterious Mono Lake and the ghost town of Bodie before driving to Lake Tahoe. Afterwards, beautiful trip along the lake and visit the Ponderosa Ranch from the "BONANZA" series.

Lake Tahoe - Elko

You start the day with a visit to the Gambling City Reno. Then you can either follow the Highway 80 via Winnemucca and Battle Mountain to Elko or you take the touristic route over Austin and discover a not so know part of Nevada. Lodgings in Elko.

Elko - Salt Lake City

North of the Humboldt National Forest, you drive in the direction of Wendover to the border with Utah. A little further, you can stop at the Bonneville Speedway and travel to the region of salt deserts and via the Great Salt Lake to Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City - Jackson

In the forenoon, visit the Mormon Temple Square, the Tabernacle with the famous choir, the Capitole and more. Afterwards, the beautiful route takes you through the wonderful Caribou National Forest, along the shores of the Snake River to the little town of Jackson.

Jackson - Yellowstone

From Jackson, you drive to the beautiful Grand Teton National Park. Enjoy a relaxing walk or a delicious picknick near the river. Further to Yellowstone National Park to start the 'South Loop'. It offers you to meet the vulcan activity in the park in glaciers, mud puddles and fumaroles. Lodgings in West Yellowstone/Montana.

Yellowstone

A full day to visit this impressive park. Do not forget to follow the 'North Loop' as well to discover the enormous canyons, stormy waterfalls and shining rocks.

Yellowstone - Cody

Just a couple of hours driving and you reach the cozy cowboy and western atmosphere. Cody, the town of Buffalo Bill, is a pleasant interlude during the travel. Almost every summer night, you can enjoy a real rodeo.

Cody - Rock Springs

From Cody, you travel to Thermopolis first, a region with warm water sources. Then via Riverton to Lander through the Wind Indian Reservation, originally the area from the Shoshone and Arapaho Indians. They organise POW WOWs regularly. Further to Rock Springs for lodgings.

Rock Springs – Vernal

Flaming Gorge National recreation area spans southwestern Wyoming and eastern Utah. The construction of Flaming Gorge Dam created a large reservoir of water in the river. The area is known as the "fishing hot spot" of America and offers many recreational opportunities. Vernal is very popular among tourists because the town still exudes the atmosphere of the Old West and many dinosaur fossils are found there. Moreover, it is a suitable location for a variety of outdoor activities.

Vernal - Moab

You leave Vernal in the direction of Dinosaur. Here you can find the famous quarry of the Dinosaur National Monument with fossilised remains of serveral dinosaurs. Then to Grand Junction and visit the wonderful canyons and the monoliths in the Colorado National Monument. Via Cisco and the Scenic Route 128 to Moab.

Moab - Arches and Canyonlands national parks

The entrance gate to the Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park. Discover the meanders of the Colorado River, Dead Horse Point and the fantastic rock formations en stone triumph arches in Arches National Park. Jeeptours en raft trips can not be missed!

Moab - Kayenta

A ride with a diversity of views brings you through the Sal Mountains with stops at Looking Glass Rock, Wilson Arch and Church Rock. From Monticello to Bluff with a possibility to visit the "Valley of the Gods". Then to Kayenta, the entrance gate to Monument Valley.

Monument Valley will breng back the memories to the famous western movies. Optional: a jeep tour with Navajo guidance. Afterwards, continue travel through an abandonned area to Page, located at the wonderful Lake Powell.

Page - Grand Canyon

This morning, you can enjoy a boat trip to Rainbow Bridge (optional) or relax around the lake. Tehe you can make short stages to the impressive Grand Canyon. First visit: the viewpoint of the East Rim. Lodgings at the entrance of the park.

Grand Canyon - Phoenix/Scottsdale

Encounter with the most beautiful panoramas of the South Rim. An optional helicopter flight above the canyon can be booked. You leave the park in the direction of Williams, and drive to Flagstaff. Follow the scenic route through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona and held a stop in this picturesque town, surounded with imposing red rock formations. The day ends in Phoenix (Scottsdale).

Phoenix/Scottsdale

Today, you explore the old Indian culture. Enjoy the dozen little cozy restaurants and shop 'till you drop in the impressive shopping centers to find the ulimate souvenirs.
