Montreal - Shawinigan Area

Start the day with a visit at the Centre d'Interpretation des Pates et Papiers in Trois-Rivières. In Grandes-Piles, the Musée de Bûcheron tells everything you need to know about woodworking. Afterwards, you travel to the untouched nature of La Mauricie end you reach Lac St. Jean. Lodgings in St. Gédeon, Roberval of St. Félicien.

Lac St. Jean - Chicoutimi

The St. - Félicien Zoo is definitely worth a visit. Afterwards, you can meet the local Indians of Pointe Bleue or you can make a stop in the ghost town of Val Jabert. Futher to Chicoutimi, where the Saguenay forms a delta with brackish water.

Follow the north bank of the Saguenay and enjout the wonderful nature with ridged fjords and steep rock walls. Make a stop at St. - Fulgence and Ste. Rose du Nord, where charm and nature inspire many painters and artists. Travel to Tadoussac.

In the close surroundings there is the Ile d’ Orléans, the waterfall of Montmorency and the Huron - village Wendake to visit.

You can enjoy an optional full day excursion to Tadoussac including 3‑hours of whalewatching on the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of the Saguenay River aboard a regular boat. Upon return, a visit to the spectacular Montmorency Falls that are 30 metres higher than the Niagara Falls with a flow of roughly 35,000 litres of water per second (125,000 litres during the spring). The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this historic French-Canadian city with narrow streets and unique boutiques.
