Today you will first get to know the prairie, which seems to stretch on forever. Its unique charm lies in its vast expanse where you can drive for hours without seeing more than a few railroad tracks or windmills. On the horizon are the Black Hills. This range is home to some of the state's most visited attractions, including the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Relive an episode of "Dances with Wolves" that was filmed in the area.

Follow the signs to the North Loop and you'll soon discover the impressive canyons, tempestuous waterfalls and sparkling rocks. Make sure to make a stop in Canon City and visit the impressive suspension bridge of the Royal Gorge, about 330 meter above the river. At the foot of the Pikes Peak you reach Colorado Springs with the Pioniers Museum, the Garden of the Gods, and many more. Travel to Denver.
